Is my personal data safe and private?

We use enterprise-grade AI partners to process your receipts with strict privacy shields, and your data is hosted securely in the EU. We are a Swedish company that strictly adheres to GDPR, and most importantly: our business model is subscription-based, which means we never view you as a product and we never sell your data to advertisers.

Why use Summo instead of my banking app?

Banking apps only tell you where you shopped (e.g., "€50 at Supermarket"), but Summo tells you exactly what you bought (e.g., "Milk, Chicken, Avocados"). This item-level detail unlocks insights a bank can't provide, like tracking how much you spend on specific categories, spotting price inflation on your favorite items, or analyzing your nutritional habits.

Do I have to fix mistakes manually?

Our AI is incredibly good at reading imperfect receipts, including abbreviations and crumpled paper, so manual corrections are rarely needed. However, no technology is perfect, so if the app does miss an item or get a price wrong, you can easily tap to edit the purchase details in seconds.

Does it work with online grocery orders?

Absolutely—you can upload digital receipts (PDFs or screenshots) directly from your phone's files or photo gallery. Whether it's an email receipt from a delivery service or a digital receipt from a store app, just take a screenshot and share it to Summo to process it just like a paper receipt.

How accurate is the nutritional information?

Summo focuses on "big picture" health trends by analyzing the product description on your receipt and estimating values based on standard database averages. It is perfect for answering broad questions like "Did I buy enough vegetables this month?" without the hassle of scanning barcodes for every single item.

Can I share the app with my family?

Yes, we designed Summo for households to track a combined budget and share shopping lists. Our Plus plan covers you and a partner (2 members), while our Asterisk tier supports larger families of up to 5 members. And it works cross-platform: it does not matter if the subscription was purchased on iOS—family members can join from Android or the web, and vice versa.

Can I export my data if I leave?

Yes, we believe your data belongs to you. You can request a full export of your account data (including your purchase history and images) at any time from the settings menu, because we want you to stay because you love the app, not because you're locked in.

Does it work with any store in any country?

Yes, because Summo uses advanced AI to read the receipt text just like a human would, it is not limited to specific supermarket chains or banks. We support over 35 languages and all global currencies, so whether you shop at a major hypermarket, a local corner store, or even while traveling abroad, it just works.
